Code of Conduct

We’re here to learn, share, and build—safely and respectfully.
OzCon welcomes everyone across red, blue, and purple teams. We expect professional conduct from all attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff—in sessions, hallways, online spaces, and after-hours events.

CODE OF CONDUCT

What’s Expected

  • Respect first. Use correct names/pronouns; don’t interrupt; make room for new voices.
  • Professional boundaries. Ask before photographing/recording; honor “no photo” requests.
  • Keep demos safe & scoped. Use owned/lab assets only; isolate environments; rehearse.

Demo & Disclosure Safety

  • No live targets. No PII. Redact/sanitize artifacts (logs, PCAPs, screenshots).
  • Responsible disclosure required. Coordinate with affected vendors/orgs before presenting.
  • Clearly label risk. If reproducing techniques, specify guardrails and safe alternatives.

Accessibility & Inclusion

Tell us what you need to fully participate (seating, captions, sensory breaks, dietary). Email wizard@theozcon.com in advance or speak with staff on site—we’ll do our best to help.

Not Allowed

  • Harassment or discrimination (including slurs, hate speech, intimidation, repeated unwanted contact).
  • Sexual language/imagery in talks, slides, or behavior.
  • Doxxing, threats, stalking, or disruption of sessions or venue operations.
  • Unsafe or non-consensual testing/exploitation of people, organizations, or systems.
  • Unauthorized recording or posting of content marked private/embargoed.

How to Report

  • Find a staff badge (any organizer), or email wizard@theozcon.com (confidential).
  • For immediate danger or medical issues, contact venue security or call 911 first, then notify staff.

    Enforcement

    We take reports seriously and act quickly. Actions may include a warning, removal without refund, and/or a ban from future events—at organizer discretion. Sponsors and speakers are held to the same standard as attendees.

      Pay no attention to the noise—pay attention to each other.
      We’re all here to pull back the curtain on real security, not on one another.
